Overview

A free school readiness program for children ages 2-5 and their parent or caregiver.

Developmental Playgroup meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:00-11:30 am and follows the NUSD academic calendar. It is led by an early childhood educator and supported by NMCS’s Bilingual Child Development Specialist who supports families to confidently move forward with their own goals to success at home, at school, at work, and in our community.

Families engage in various activities that promote social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and early literacy skills. Children participate in read-a-louds, music and movement, science experiments, art projects, and other activities that strengthen development across domains and prepare them for preschool or Kindergarten. Development Playgroup provides opportunities for parent education, family to family connection, and access to community resources.
