Overview
Simply put, we wouldn't be able to do all of our work in the community without our volunteers. The first step to becoming an NMCS volunteer is to complete an application.
Community Market:
North Marin Community Services (NMCS) has transitioned from a traditional food pantry to a Community Market, creating a more dignified and empowering shopping experience for participants. As an NMCS volunteer, you play an important role in creating a welcoming, organized, and positive environment for everyone.
Volunteer Shifts
Set-Up: Tuesdays 8:30–10:00 AM and Fridays 7:30–9:00 AM
Help unload and unpack food deliveries from the SF-Marin Food Bank and organize fresh and packaged food for the Community Market.
Distribution: Tuesdays 1:30–6:30 PM and Fridays 9:30 AM–2:30 PM
Support the flow of participants, keep stations stocked and clean, assist with product selection according to SF-Marin Food Bank guidelines, and provide respectful and welcoming assistance while participants shop.
How to Volunteer
Individuals interested in becoming a Community Market volunteer must first complete a short volunteer application. Once your application has been completed and approved, you will receive links to sign up for available volunteer dates. There is no long-term commitment required — come once, come twice!
